Have you ever been curious to see how Tech titans started their companies? We’ve made a selection of pictures you’ve got to see.

Most of the giants that dictate the way tech-at-large rolls these days had modest start-offs in the time of their early days. Some associated the prosperity of the companies or their creators to great foresight, knowing the “right” persons, and in many cases, being in the ideal place at the ideal time.

Actually, many of these creators “understood” a few things early on: they knew they were going to start their own company one day, they knew what they were performing was willing to be huge one day, they were driven (absolutely nothing was going to stop them) and they beat a bunch of risks many of us wouldn’t be easy taking these days.

Many of the main people from these organizations are appreciating the spoils of their hardwork at that time, today, and are definitely sustaining, investing and mentoring many modern-day startups. Let’s have a look at the classic pics of these founding titans, collected from the Internet and have a look into how it was for them the moment they were starting out as nobodies.

Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs with an Apple I, 1976. Wozniak built the Apple I (which was essentially a circuit board) by hand. Jobs helped sell the concept and eventually it proceeded sale in July 1976 for $666.66 per article. Apple I was substituted by Apple II a little over a year later. Apple HQ in Cupertino, 1981. The rainbow Apple logo design was created in 1977 and used up until August 1999, right before it was switched out with more modernized monochromatic solutions. We notice here the initial logo displayed proudly in front of the Apple’s Cupertino office space, back in 1981. Michael Scott the first CEO of Apple in February 1981 fired 40 employees suddenly, and as a repercussion he was substituted by Mike Markkula (who employed him), before stopping in July the same year. Microsoft co-founders, 1975. In 1975, Bill Gates had quit of Harvard to start Micro-Soft (the hyphen was fortunately gone down a year later) with Paul Allen who was working with MITS. They wrote software for MITS-owned Altair microcomputers but by late 1976 Microsoft has removed itself from MITS to write software for some other systems. In spite of their contrasts in their after years, the two recreated this old photo last year. (Image Source: Microsoft). 4

Ceos of Adobe Systems, 1982. Academics Charles Geschke and John Warnock performed at the Xerox Palo Alto Research Center (PARC) in the past 70’s before establishing Adobe. Their goal and incentive was to specifically transpose words and pictures onscreen to a printed page. They would will probably develop the PostScript technology. (Image Source: Hyperbate).6

Intel ceos and its very first hire, 1978. Andy Grove, Intel‘s initial employ (left) and the co-founders, Robert Noyce and Gordon Moore (both of two-faced 8 fame) along with a layout of the 8080 microprocessor in 1978. Grove had heard that both were leaving Fairchild Semiconductor (where the 3 of them performed) and just chose to follow. Intel would eventually moved from the memory chip business to microprocessors et cetera is history. (Image Source: NPR).7

Google co-founders, California 1999. Larry Page’s parents were both computer science mentors at Michigan State University and so it was not a surprise that he would certainly follow in their tracks in earning a PhD in Computer technology. Side by side with Sergey Brin, a fellow PhD student, they worked with “BackRub”, a research program to “count and quality each back link in the Web”. The picture shows the duo at Menlo Park exactly where they established their first office space, before they moved out to Palo Alto in early 1999. (Image Source: CNN Money).11

The original Google platform, 1998. Here is where Google started– unassuming, lowkey– within the confines of Stanford University. Brin and Page had established the PageRank algorithm to bring importance to a page based on backlink data. This ultimately became the fundamentals of their online search engine. In 1998, Google was developed. (Image Source: Pingdom).12

Yahoo! founding fathers, circa 1994. “Yet Another Hierarchical Officious Oracle”, was really far from an experiment to change the world. “Jerry’s Guide to the World Wide Web” was essentially a web directory, rather than an online search engine. But it gained worldwide popularity quick and soon almost everyone was using Yahoo! as a launching page to the Internet. In 2008, Microsoft offered to purchase Yahoo for $44.6 billion, an offer that was declined. These days, Yahoo has a stock market value of $34 billion and is set to benefit from Alibaba’s pending IPO. U.S. vs China: Top Tech Companies Showdown

Cyber-war-US-vs-ChinaBe it Yahoo, Facebook or Google, a plenty of the sites that we check and log on per day are developed and produced in the United States. Despite their worldwide popularity, though, these massive tech brands are not the be-all-end-all– there’s an entire other world of rising websites and tech products beyond of the world, in China.

Among the world’s fastest growing economic states, second only to the USA in terms of GDP, China is the home of Baidu, the local brand that do the work Google do. As a matter of fact, there’s most likely a Chinese option to practically every major US-based social media network and tech brand available. This post will show 3 of these labels, reviewed side-by-side with their American versions.

It’s easy to kick out these Made-in-China brand names as imitators; that being said, these sites are often much more than just a copy or a local Chinese version. Some of these brands can produce more profit, and monetize better than the “originals”. Let’s take a look at the ever-growing world of Chinese World wide web.

  1. Google Vs Baidu

Google, started in 1998, is the go-to search engine for the majority of Web users, but that’s not actually the case in China. Baidu, founded two years later in 2000, gets its fair share of users as well, caused by its Chinese language target and knowledge of the Chinese industry.

Google

Site visitors: 114.7 billion monthly searches.

Benefit: 330 billion $.

Google handle a large amount of Internet-related product and services, but 1 of its principal services, and the core of its baidu-googleoperations, is its search engine, Google Search. Advertising, particularly Google AdWords, is Google’s main income source.

With AdWords, advertisers submit advertising campaigns to Google together with related keywords; each time a user searches for these keywords, Google will show the advertisement alongside search results. Google is rewarded by the advertiser for every single click on the advertising. Google as well manages AdSense, a service which provides Google-branded ads to websites.

Baidu

Site visitors: 14.5 billion every month searches.

Profit: $55.56 billion dollars.

Baidu, similar to Google, gets a big number of web services below its belt, with the major core of functions being its search engine. One of the most obvious difference when comparing the two is, of course, the fact that Baidu is a Chinese-language service, and its searches are optimized for the language.

Baidu’s level of popularity in China may additionally have to do with the fact that it was the first to offer WAP and PDA-based searching, tapping into the huge Chinese mobile phone industry. Like Google, Baidu also earns money from marketers, but its technique differs slightly from that of Google. Baidu mixes paid-for and organic search results, while Google separates them.

  1. Facebook Vs Renren

Facebook, founded in 2004, is unquestionably 1 of the titans of the social media industry. But, of course, the fact that it’s prohibited in China means that there are a number of Chinese-language twins that cater to Chinese Internet users. Renren is just one of these, and was established in 2005, only a year after Facebook

Facebook.

Site visitors: 1.15 billion monthly active users.

Profit: $100 billion.

Facebook is a social networking website. Facebook profiles feature a timeline, a chronologically-ordered list of items like pictures, status updates and comments, along with a news feed that shows up on every user’s home page.

14Facebook also permits users to play games. Like many sites, Facebook’s main provider of income are advertising campaigns, more than 49 % of which came from mobile users. Facebook also earns money from fees made by users to Zynga, developers of popular Facebook games for example, FarmVille and CityVille. Facebook takes a 30 % cut of Zynga’s revenue.

Renren

Site visitors: 54 million regular monthly active users.

Profit: $1.28 billion.

Renren is externally just like Facebook, but has a few characteristics that set it apart. Renren has the ability for users to gain “points” by logging in, posting and connecting with various other users. These points increase a user’s “level”, which offers users benefits such as skins and additional emoticons. These benefits can also be acquired by paying a regular monthly fee to end up being a VIP user.

Renren also has a virtual money, called Xiaoneidu, which allows users to purchase online items. Renren makes most of its income from advertising and marketing. While the site itself is quite similar, Renren is far from “China’s Facebook” in terms of valuation and level of popularity, though; Twitter-likes such as Sina Weibo and messaging-centric services such as Tencent’s QQ and WeChat are far more preferred in China.

  1. Yahoo! Vs Tencent QQ

Yahoo! is an old soldier in the internet portal and Internet service game, been established in 1994. Its nearest twin in China, Tencent, has been present for a while too; it was based in 1998. Both offer a similar range of services, but Tencent has its very own take on the services that guarantees its level of popularity within its native nation.

Yahoo!

Users: 800 million monthly users.Yahoo_Logo

Benefit: $35.31 billion.

Yahoo! runs a number of web services, featuring the main Yahoo web portal; a search engine, Yahoo Search; an e-mail service, Yahoo Mail; and also an instant messaging program, Yahoo Messenger. Yahoo! also possesses popular blogging platform Tumblr and photo-sharing site Flickr.

40 % of Yahoo’s income results from advertising, including targeted advertising in its new personalized news stream, and it also makes money from product and service sales via services such as Yahoo! Shopping. Yahoo also profits from pertaining to the Yahoo Bing Network, which runs a pay per click program just like Google’s AdWords.

tencent_penguinTencent QQ

Site visitors: 815.6 million regular monthly active users.

Value: $101 billion.

Tencent’s QQ service, much like Yahoo!, encompasses many services. One of the most popular of these is Tencent’s QQ instant messaging service. Along with the instant messaging service, Tencent operates a web news site, QQ.com, which is one of the largest in China, and QQ Games, a service that offers an amount of massively multiplayer online (MMO) games.

Tencent also runs an e-mail service, QQ Mail, and produces income through extra VIP memberships for services including QQ Music, Tencent Microblog, and many of QQ Games’ MMO games. Most of these memberships add exclusive features and, in the case of MMO games, special items.

Goalkeeper Reactions.

FIFA 15 also brings a new level of realism to the way goalkeepers react to shots that are tough to deal with. Compared with FIFA 14, in which your adversary would want to keep the ball and maybe play cautiously, in FIFA 15 they will attempt riskier attacking runs – this brings you more variety and a more human adversary.

FIFA 15 – Authentic Player Visuals

The Next Generation football team player is right here. FIFA 15 – Living Pitch

In FIFA 15, shoes are going to leave their mark. Playing surfaces wear down over time and reproduce the battle on the pitch. Footprints, debris and slide tackles are going to all be distinguishable. Corner flags now move! And goal frames shake with incredible hit. Animated LED panels give an even deeper level of realism to matches.

FIFA 15 – Agility & Control and Correct Contacts

In FIFA 15, leave defenders for dust and use the ball such as the world’s best footballers.

Players reposition realistically with athleticism, boosted balance and closer control, providing better cooperation and personality to your favorite idols.

Team players are more physical and make use of Possession Tackles to gain the ball and hold it – you are awarded for great positioning and timing. Feel the match with new shoulder barges and major fall physics. T-shirt pulling is also now noticeable with all-new player visuals and improved cloth techniques. You’ll command set pieces. Take control and position off-the-ball teammates during throw-ins, corners and free-kicks so they’re very best placed to receive a pass and create attacking chances.

FIFA 15 – Barclays Premier League Announcement

The highly popular league in the world and in our game is now the most authentic in FIFA 15. All 20 Barclays Premier League fifa-15-anfield-liverpool_2stadiums now feature in FIFA 15. Essential Facebook Social manners: 10 Dos and Don’ts

9240da586e4318b96afb42ed4d5cc35fWith Facebook blowing up into our existence and evolving rapidly in merely a couple of years, as we already showed you in a previous article about the popularity of social websites, “TOP 5 Social Networking Sites”, it’s difficult for site visitors to grasp the unmentioned rules of the social communication throughout.

Still, there is a basic agreed upon courtesy or social manners for online connections which we can relate to the incredible social networking site.

The following etiquettes are therefore not something which we must all rigorously abide to. Rather, they are just some guidelines to improve our social interactions and enjoy Facebook.

5 Dos:

1. Think Before You Post.

As soon as you have hundreds of friends and acquaintances in Facebook, you have people from all type of backgrounds, all with distinct jobs, beliefs, personalities, etc. As an example, you make a remark about how advertisers convince naive customers to purchase something they don’t need to have.

The things you might just not become conscious of is that some of your friends in the marketing industry might see your status in their newsfeed. It’s an overall statement, but they could think you are focused on them.849cf269caa75260a4865de380cc8fa9

2. Private Message, Don’t Write On Wall.

As much as you may want everyone to find out your most intimate secrets, many others might not go in with the same inclination. Your friends might not accept it too kindly as soon as you post the things they did last night at your house party, or some other stuff which are understood to be kept between your closest friends.

3. Reply To Comments You Receive, Particularly When They Are Questions.

You publish a status, and your friends make remarks and ‘like‘ it. I guess the least you may do is to acknowledge them by responding anything, especially when they are questionings addressed to you.

4. Call up Instead of Posting Personal News.

This particular isn’t just Facebook courtesy; it’s social proper behavior or even good sense. If you need to inform your friends or your family members about some important and private news, don’t declare it out in everyone domain. Facebook is a social networking site; it’s supposed to be public. This indicates that individuals can find out what happened.

5. Restrain From Commenting On Every Post.

If you’re stalking your friend, leave it at that. Don’t turn it into a routine to come up with some comment regarding every little thing your friends post or they’ll start to get skeptical.

Extra: Take care Of Your Tone.

Similar to all various other online communication, communicating on Facebook is mainly textual. We can neither listen to the voice tone nor see the gestures whenever the other person ‘talks’. In other words, it’s easy for somebody to believe you are being actually ironical when you are certainly not, or misunderstand you in any other way for that matter. One technique we can repair the absence of signals is to use emoticons. Smile and the entire world smiles with you:).

5 Don’ts:

1. Tag Your Friends In ‘Ugly’ Shots.

Guys may accept it gently when they are identified in photos that look as if they just got up from the bed, thinking that it’s a joke pulled off by their friends. If it concerns girls though, showing up ‘Ugly’ shows a bunch more to all of them. Obviously, this applies to some men too.

261a9f5b86d95b9f2b124c91f888e1602. Post Chain Status Updates.

Just remember those group e-mails that demand you to forward to every one of your friends or you’ll die a horrible, horrible death? Well, Facebook has a comparable type of string, but usually for a great cause. Somebody first post a status update about a social reason, motivating those who read it to publish the status as well, to ensure that their friends will get to look at it and post it too. This chain thus spread the cause, raising public awareness.

3. Send Friend Requests To Strangers.

A few users have this thought that the number of ‘friends’ you invite on Facebook is a reputation of your level of popularity in real-life. This may be true if these ‘friends’ are individuals which you know offline, and not strangers whom you randomly add when browsing through the Facebook network.

That’s not cool. However if you want to include someone for certain real cause, like to meet this woman you have a crush on, do so with some introduction or through a mutual friend.

4. Vent Regarding Your job.

Facebook is a sharp sword when it comes to its community networking ability. The boon is that it enables us to connect in an unprecedented manner with friends of friends of friends via the identification of mutual friendships.

So, simply play safe and leave behind your venting to someplace private. Like the watercooler.

5. Overshare

Checking out the updates on your newsfeed, you see the same friend updating his status again and again. Not informative ones, but just updates about what he’s carrying out every ten mins. How exciting. You choose to hide his posts.306e80877f047efbc65b91d4c17be23b

Conclusion

At the end of the day, it’s entirely up to us to follow these etiquette policies. I guess it’s about discovering the balance between being fun and conscious. On one hand, we shouldn’t limit our own selves with rules that would limit our creativity and spontaneousness of our social interactions. On the other hand, we ought to understand the publicness of Facebook to protect our privacy and at the same time respect the fact that each one forms a part of the Facebook experience of everyone else.
